So happy Daddy is home...

This girl could NOT be more excited to have her daddy home. He got good snuggles today...I'm not jealous, I swear. :)
We also painted her toenails today...Auntie Sheeshe so kindly painted mine (as I can't even reach them anymore :) and Hailey wanted toes like Mommy's...
And here is the most hilarious face my daughter has ever made! We call it her "grumpy face"...any idea why? :)

Silly girl...just don't make that face at your parents when they ask you to do something that you don't want to do...that's no good! :)

My thoughts...

So, I'm sure that with the exception of the person who wrote the nasty comment on my blog about my weight, you're all curious as to what that last post was about.

Let me just say this to you, though...

*I'm perfectly aware of the struggle I've had with my weight for the past several years. Thanks for shedding light on it for me, though. The excitement I have about having gained less weight this time around in my pregnancy is that I'll have less to work off after my son is born.

*The people in my inner circle love me for me...not how much I weigh or what size jeans I wear. You're clearly not one of these people, or you'd never post such a hurtful thing for all the world to see.

*God loves me...regardless of how much I weigh or what size jeans I wear...or anything else, for that matter.

*You probably have no clue what kind of medical issues add to my struggle.

*If you're someone who doesn't know me personally, what would make you so spiteful that you would say something like that on the internet? If you do know me, why wouldn't you either voice your concerns to me directly or keep your comments to yourself?

Thank you to everyone who came to my side...I love you all.

Grow up and sign your comments. You're unbelievably rude.

I'm a model you know what I mean, and I do my little turn on the catwalk...

Derek Zoolander, step aside...you've got some competition! These kids were so cute today at the Nordy's fashion show!

It's so nice to have connections to fame...thanks Aunt Lynn Honey and Auntie Panda!! :)

While waiting for the show to start, Hailey and Case could hardly contain themselves...they were so ready to GO!

These two LOVE each other...here they are sharing a "pre-show kiss"...for good luck, of course! :)

30 weeks...and counting...

I haven't done many pregnancy posts so far, so I thought I'd give an update since I've entered my 30th week...

*Weight gain so far: 16 lbs.

*Glucose test: PASSED!!

*Iron level: Low...gotta start taking an iron supplement :(

*Baby movement: CRAZY! This guy doesn't kick as much as Hailey did, but it feels like he's doing somersaults in my belly all the time. I've for sure felt his knee, bum and foot in the last week. :)

*Energy level: dropping...I felt REALLY good in my 2nd trimester, but upon entering my 3rd I'm getting pretty tired...I know my iron level has some to do with that, but I also think I'm just bigger and chasing a very busy toddler around.

*Patience level: virtually non-existant!!! I wondered if I'd be as excited about this baby as I was with my first and I can say for sure that I am. Not only am I anxious to not be pregnant anymore, but I'm also very excited to meet and cuddle my little guy! My daughter hasn't snuggled with me for more than thirty seconds since she was born, so I'm SURE God will bless me with a snuggly boy...right?? :)

*Fears: the birth (I don't have amnesia...it hurts and I remember), breastfeeding (this did NOT go well at all with Hailey and I've already been praying that Owen doesn't have the same issues), his health (Hails started out with jaundice, then had severe dehydration, weight loss, pretty bad reflux, etc. I'd love an easy healthy baby!)

Well, that's all I can think of! The countdown is on...if all goes as planned I've got less than 9 weeks left, but we'll just have to see... :)

Mommy...no singing!

Hails and I are in the car...heading home from a lovely day at Nana's. We're listening to Veggie Tales (again!!!), and I've decided that since you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Singing along helps me not drive into oncoming traffic.

Hailey: "Mommy...no singing!"

Me: "What?? Why can't I sing with Bob Mado?"

Hailey: "Mommy...stop singing."

I knew these days would come, but I hoped they wouldn't be until she entered Jr. High.

Apparently not. Next thing you know I won't be allowed to kiss her in public and she'll ask me to walk 10 paces behind her at the mall...

Things I never imagined...

would come out of Hailey's mouth...

(all of these were YELLED while watching the Husky game this afternoon with her dad)

"Way to go, Brockman!"

"De-fense!! De-fense!!"

"Come on, Boys!"

"Defense, Boys!!"

and last, but not least...

"Call the foul!!"

Multi-Tasking...

Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do...and when I asked her what she was doing she said, "Checkin' my email, Mommy." :)

What we've been up to lately...

Mommy had a birthday...I turned...ahem...29...

We painted Owen's nursery and cleared out almost all of the pink in sight! There was a bit of a battle over whether to paint the walls blue or green, but I won and they're a very manly shade of olive green. I need some serious decor for the walls...and boy decor isn't as easy as girl decor...

As usual, blogger wigged out the order of the pics...here is one of Hailey helping decorate my birthday cake... :)

And here's Hailey all ready to head out shopping for the afternoon...such a cutie pie...

She's getting so big! I think since I've spent the last several days sorting and washing newborn clothes, I've had a reality check about how big my little Hailey really is...

Well, that's about it...nothing too exciting...just spending time getting ready for Owen to join us and enjoying time with the three of us before we become four. On the up side, we took a trip to Babies R Us today and I realized that there's really not much I NEED before he comes! Just a few little things and some diapers...thanks to Christy's passing on of all of Caser's old clothes, receiving blankets, and stuff! Thanks, Cweek!! :)

Here's the face...

...I got when I asked if Hailey went potty in her pull-up... :)

6 Years...

Today is our 6th wedding anniversary...the year of candy, iron and wood. If Todd's reading this, I'd prefer candy...

So far we celebrated while watching "Babes in Toyland" with Hailey, french toast for breakfast, and a family nap...good times! Here's a recap of the last 6 years for Todd and I -

*Bought a house
*Bought a construction company
*Started leading Young Life together at FWHS
*Asked the Lord for a family...then had to wait on His timing (perfect timing, of course)
*Lost a baby, then got pregnant with Hailey!
*Bought a house to remodel 6 weeks before I was due with Hailey, began remodeling
*Sold our house just a few weeks after having her
*Moved into our new house before it had a functioning kitchen...with a newborn! :)
*Grew into our role as parents...not the easiest thing I've ever done, that's for sure!
*Lost another baby, but got pregnant right away with baby Owen...
*Watched the economy take a nose dive
*In process of learning TRUST in a new way, as we ask the Lord to provide for our family.

As you can see, we've been busy, but know that the Lord has been busy at work growing us individually and as a couple.

Love you, Todd!

our new morning ritual...

And no, you sicko's...it's nothing dirty. Geeze.

We've begun starting our day off right...with a nice and competitive round of Wii bowling. Let's just say, as previously mentioned life is really stressful and this is such a great stress-reducer! (Well, unless you really need to turkey your 10th frame to beat your spouse, and then it can be a real nail-biter)

Our morning ritual then continues with praying for our day together, all three of us, and sending Todd on his way to work.

What more could one ask for?

P.S. For the record, I beat Todd twice this morning. He typically bowls well over a 200, but not today...lucky me...
